problems with Catalogue mirroring

there have been problems with Catalogue mirroring for quite a while.

we have now established a work-around, and have installed an (almost
complete) new copy of the Catalogue.  (the one exception we know about
is the support/ subdirectory, which contains a bunch of xsl files: we
hope to include that in an update within the next 24 hours.)
