Why is it quicker to express simple equations in plaintext than it is to
write the equivalent LaTeX? EasyLatex is a preprocessor to make writing
LaTeX much easier.
EasyLatex accepts 'ASCII math' such as
"The identity matrix is the matrix for which a_i
j = 1 when i = j, and 0 everywhere else; for example, in three dimensions,
I = [1 0 0 ; 0 1 0 ; 0 0 1]."
and generates equivalent LaTeX source documents.

of CTAN that is near to you; see
