On Tue, 15 Feb 2005 Dirk Krause submitted version 1.2.0 of his bmeps
package.

A library and a command line tool for conversion of different
bitmap graphics types to EPS. It can produce EPS levels 1, 2
and 3. Level 2 allows the use of run-length compression and
    ASCII-85-encoding instead of ASCII-Hex-encoding, while level 3
allows the use of flate compression. TIFF- and PNG-alpha
channels can be converted into EPS level 3 image masks. Modified
dvips sources are included to allow image conversion directly
    from dvips.

A library and a command line tool for conversion of different bitmap
graphics types to EPS. It can produce EPS levels 1, 2 and 3. Level 2
allows the use of run-length compression and ASCII-85-encoding instead of
ASCII-Hex-encoding, while level 3 allows the use of
flate compression.
PNG-alpha channels can be converted into EPS level 3
image masks.
Modified dvips sources are included to allow image conversion directly from dvips.

An option "-V" (or EPSOUTPUT character "V") was added to
run in verbose mode. Previous versions (without verbose
mode) did not write messages on errors, only the exit code
was set.
Previous versions possibly crashed/dumped core on problems
in PNG files. The libpng routines use the setjmp()/longjmp()
mechanism on errors but libbmeps did not set up the jump
buffer. This is fixed now.

Thanks for the update.
