  * New option `factor’ to influence protrusion resp. 
    expansion of all characters of a font (set)
  * When pdfTeX is too old to expand fonts automatically, 
    font expansion has to be enabled explicitly
  * Protrusion:
    + improved digits
    + added italic uppercase Greek letters
    + tuned CMR math letters
  * Use e-TeX extensions, if available
