On Mon, 14 Aug 2006, Heiko Oberdiek submitted an update to the

  pdftex.def

file.

This file provides device-specific definitions for colour and graphics
support when running pdf(La)TeX.

%  * Extensions added: .jpeg, .JPG, .JPEG, .PNG, .PDF
%    No variants for .tif, because TIFF support is no longer available.
