i have installed the new version of the script, and removed the old
("windows") c-coded version which was out of date, buggy and whose
maintainers we could not contact.

i have updated the catalogue repository, but not regenerated the web
pages.  the web catalogue entry
  http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/epstopdf.html

should reflect the new situation by about 0100 local time here.
