Name of contribution: Version 2.3 of the exam document class
Author's name: Philip Hirschhorn
Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/exam
Summary description: A document class for preparing exams
License type: lppl

Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Major changes since version 2.2:

1. In addition to grading tables for the entire exam (indexed either
by question number or by page number), it's now possible to create
grading tables that cover only part of the exam.

2. In addition to grading tables, it's now possible to create point
tables (either for the entire exam or for only part of the exam).
These tables list the questions (or pages) and the number of points
possible, but don't have space to fill in the number of points
actually earned.

3. There are now ``bonus points'', which can be assigned to a question
(or part, or subpart, or subsubpart) instead of regular points. Bonus
points are not counted by the regular grading tables or point tables,
but there are commands to create both grading tables and point tables
that count only bonus points, either for the entire exam for for only
part of the exam.

4. In a grading table (or point table) indexed by question number,
it's possible to replace the number of a question by a title of that
question (e.g., "Concepts", or "Design"). Of course, the title of a
question can also include the question number.

5. If you create a pdf file from your LaTeX file, then the question
numbers (or question titles; see item 4 above) in a grading table
indexed by question number will be clickable links that take you to
the corresponding question. Similarly, the page numbers in a grading
table indexed by page number will be clickable links that take you to
the corresponding page.

6. The command \answerline, which creates an answer line for short
answer questions, can now take an optional argument, which should be
the correct answer. The correct answer will be printed on the answer
line when solutions are being printed.

7. When creating a choices environment (to list the possible answers
to a multiple choice question), you can mark one or more of the
choices as "correct choices", and these choices will be printed with
emphasis when solutions are being printed. By default, the emphasis
is boldface, but this can be changed.

8. Hooks are provided for advanced users to modify the list parameters
(e.g., \topsep, \itemsep, etc.) used in the lists created by the
questions, parts, subparts, subsubparts, and choices environments.
