i've installed the new version, and updated the catalogue.  i've also
added a catalogue entry for mfirstuc, on the grounds that it surely has
other uses.

the package itself is already on its journey to mirror sites around the
world.  the catalogue entry will be updated overnight (i.e., pretty
soon, here in cambridge, but different times at the other two main sites).
