On Wed, 17 Aug 2011 Axel Sommerfeldt submitted an update to the

  caption

package.


Summary description: This LaTeX package provides many ways to customise the 
captions in floating environments like figure and table, and cooperates with 
many other packages. Includes rotating captions, sideways captions, continued 
captions (for tables or figures that come in several parts). A list of 
compatibility notes, for other packages, is provided in the documentation. The 
package also provides the "caption outside float" facility.

The subcaption package was updated to version 1.1. It got a new option for 
selecting a format used by \subref, and a new command called \phantomsubcaption 
for referencing a sub-figure without caption. Furthermore the subcaption package 
documentation was enhanced regarding references.
