After a ridiculously long "beta" phase (for which I apologise to all users), the 
current version of microtype is finally back on CTAN. New features of version 
2.5 include:

* Support for the fontspec and xunicode packages, viz. for OpenType fonts with LuaTeX and XeTeX
* Support for protrusion with XeTeX 
* Support for tracking/letterspacing with LuaTeX  
* Allow context-sensitive setup with LuaTeX 
* Protrusion settings for Latin Modern Roman (OpenType) 
* Protrusion settings for Charis SIL (OpenType) 
* Protrusion settings for Palatino Linotype (OpenType)
