* fixed: orientation of vertical colons and semicolons
  in traditional Chinese (#40953).
* fixed a bug in \lastnodechar.
* fixed: a bug in processing nodes which from \accent (#41556).
* dropped the dependency on the everysel package,
  when the LaTeX kernel has the "selectfont" hook.

Note: the adaptation for LaTeX2e <2021-05-01> is
work in progress; it will be done after the freeze of TL'20.
