ADDED
 - new package options `italic` and `upright` for use in \usepackage[options]{derivative}

CHANGED
 - no longer secretly depends on the package unicode-math when using xetex or luatex
 - replaced \symup with \mathrm when using xetex and luatex for simplicity
 - if the package mleftright is loaded the default value of `scale-auto` is mleftmright
